The long-standing dispute between Telugu producers and exhibitors over the percentage and rental system has finally moved towards a resolution. In a fresh meeting at the Telugu Film Chamber, both parties reached mutual understanding and agreed on new rules with attached conditions.

According to the latest press note from the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, the sub-committee meeting on the percentage system was held in Hyderabad. Producers, distributors, and exhibitors participated, and discussions ended positively with all sides committing to smooth exhibition sector functioning.

In Telangana, these rules apply only if ticket prices increase. Without a hike, exhibitors and distributors will continue discussions and settle matters mutually.

Producers Agree on New Percentage Model

Telugu producers, distributors, and exhibitors have collectively agreed to implement the percentage system going forward. The new percentage model will be finalized before the next big film’s release or within three weeks, whichever comes earlier.

Films already more than 70% completed will receive preferential percentage terms. All upcoming projects will follow the newly designed system.

With both sides showing willingness to cooperate, industry circles are hopeful the ongoing conflict may soon end. The latest developments mark a major positive step for the Telugu film industry’s theatrical business.
